EXCERPT OF KS UPDATE

US TARIFFS

Annoyingly, nobody knows what is going to happen with tariffs as the Supreme Court is still humming and hawing.  Supposedly they are convening in mid-February.  But I've decided I'm going to create $20 VOLUNTARY orders for US KS backers.  I intend that your order will still ship even if you don't pay.  This $20 will cover just a portion of the US tariff fee per game if nothing changes with the current rate of ~20%.  As I understand, because of the way our China hub handles shipping payments I won't be reimbursed even if tariffs are nullified.  The total costs to Nightingale Games could be $50,000 or $60,000+.   This might sound like a guilt trip, and so be it.  But riding on the tariff rate rollercoaster blindfolded directly impacts my willingness to print any more games.  To be clear, it's not nec. the tariff itself (which still sucks), but the real kick in the pants is the unpredictability of the wildly changing rate with no notice.  By the way, printing in the US could be viable for card games or such, but a game like Imperial Borders would easily cost over $1000 if made in the USA, if it were even possible, as the factories are not well established, to the best of my knowledge.  End sulk.
